Born in Ehime Japan in 1953.

Graduated from Tokyo University of Arts. At the time while studying oil painting he was drawn to the process & experience of making mosaic.  As he was fascinated by it he then began his mosaic learning. He went to Italy on a scholarship to study more about the history and technic of mosaic.

On his return to Japan he opened mural studio “Atelier ING” and made more than 90 mural mosaics. Kii has had solo exhibitions in Tokyo, Chicago, Ravenna, Chartres and Paray-le-Monial and recently exhibited at Pagoda Red Gallery, Chicago.  Awarded 5 times at international mosaic exhibition “Picassiette” held in Chartres in France.
